recession getting worse

As advertising is cut, even Google is affected. More emphasis on SEO, as money gets tight. The mortgage meltdown led to an economic crisis that affected many large US financial institutions. While big banks can weather the storm, many small businesses cannot handle the financial catastrophe.Their customers cannot buy as much as before. These customers hold their cash close to their chest, and stop spending. As more layoffs cause more customers to stop spending we go from a severe recession to a deep depression.

more SEO in the future

As retail stores strive to cust costs and survive in a severe recession, SEO looks like a great way to get customers. In fact, many stores are going online to trim their expenses. I find many "internet only" deals now.

Last minute shoppers cannot save what is turning into a very dismal Christmas, but firms can move from brick to click. They can cut costs by moving their business online. The high cost of rents, electricity, and clerks is one reason that I see many malls closing in the future. In fact, the future is clicks not clerks.

I find that exciting as the web moves toward more movies and less text we might be seeing the beginning of a new paradigm. Youtube is number two search engine by traffic, but one day might be number one.

Typo SEO

Believe it or not, some people will intentionally use word choice errors and poor spelling to create a certain "feel" to a web site, but we are talking about typo SEO, a way to rank high for alternative spellings of a common search term. Yes, keywords are often quite competitive, but a miz-spelled keyword will often have plenty of traffic, but little competition. That is because important authority sites wish to appear professional. They react to miz-spelling like main stream journalism does to a UFO report.

They fear it so much that it provides an opportunity to those who can muster the courage to tread on the thin ice of the sensational. This is but one more tool in your chest to win traffic.

car czar?

The gov wants a car czar to oversee the bailout of the the big three automakers. The key phrase "car czar" has many possibilities from the stand point of an SEO campaign. From my research Google says via our keyword research tool that car czar gets 590 clicks per month. Keyword Discovery gives us 11 for the whole year, but as people focus on the big three this number should increase.

Keyword Cannibalization

This is similar to duplicate content. If you target hundreds of pages after the same keyword then Google will find the most relevant page and tend to ignore your other pages. This leads to a suboptimal result.

Keyword Cannibalization like duplicate content is something that you should avoid. Try to make all your pages unique and target each after a different keyword. True, there will be some overlap, but do not have hundreds of pages all going after one keyword.

Very Long Tail

Over 90% of traffic is long tail. In fact, the top 10,000 terms account for only 18.5% of traffic. That means that you should put more effort into getting those very long tail searches. For one thing, it is easier to rank for long tail, and for another it is the bulk of internet traffic.

Many people pay top dollar to the SEO firms to rank high for a few terms when they should focus on going after the very long trail.

Are some subdomains dead?

Well, in SEO it is important to have keywords in the domain name. That said, some subdomains appear to be near death. Also, search engines look to see the flavor of the domain.

Lower Bouncer Rate

There are many ways to lower your bouncer rate and increase conversion rate for more sales. Mot important is that if you have a high bounce rate you lose many of the visitors that you pay good money for so by making them stay on your site and read your content you increase sales.

First, you break up large clumps of text into small bite size pieces. Bold column titles and sub headings. Also place pictures to draw customers to your product. Adding video chunks from Youtube can make your site sticky.

You should try to keep visitors on you site for at least one minute. They need to read your content so use arrows and bullet points to direct your audience to purchase your product.

Importance of high rankings

One of the reason, and probably the most important for SEO, is to get a high ranking in the search engines. That said, we may wonder why all the fuss. Is high ranking in the search engines that important? Well, if you are not on the top ten of a search result chances are that you will get little or no clicks. Copy and SEO

Writing good copy and SEO work together. Many people stuff articles full of keywords without seeing the effect it has on readibility. Target your customers with a combination 0of good copy optimized for high ranking in the search engines.

Make sure your main keyword is not repeated again and again. Make sure to mention it in the first 100 characters, but do not be using it over and over again, because that will turn off the users of your web page.

Add compelling content that will energize and motivate your users without sounding wordy. Get to the point quickly. Your users have little time and need to make decisions fast.

Finally, add more content every week to your web site to keep it new and fresh.

Google heat map

There are many differences between a heatmap of Google in 2008 versus in 2005. Now it is more important to rank in the top three in Google. People pay less attention to lower ranking links. Perhaps this is because people are pressed for time ands cannot scan every link.

The result is that SEO is more important than ever as fewer firms can afford to simply be in the top ten. To compete you must now be in the first four results because those capture about 80% of sales, versus position five and below must fight for the remaining 20%. Well, so now more than ever you must be trying for position one.

The new Google heatmap reveals that users now do not look at the bottom of the page as much, but concentrate on the first few links. Also gone are the days when users would go to page two or three of results.

Jobs disappearing?

They say there is much unemployment, but a better reason is that our jobs are disappearing. We see outsourcing to India as a major reason that there are fewer jobs in the US. Many media jobs such as creating graphics, programming shopping carts, developing web sites are being sent to India. You can replace a $35,000/yr US job with a person making $3,000/yr and thats not all. The company saves even more money because they do not have to pay medical insurance, workmans comp, employment tax, and an office or cubicle.

It does not take a genius to see that we will soon have soaring unemployment rates as more work is sent to low wage venues.

Using image tags for SEO

Image tags help visually impaired people understand your web site. They also assist search engines in categorizing your content. For this reason it is wise to use image tags in your web pages.

Typically I will have about three images per page and 200-300 words of content. If there are many more words of content the user is forced to scroll and can get bored with dry text. Adding pictures and videos will not only spice up your content, but image tags help the search engines find it.

Getting to the top of the search engines

My view is that you should concentrate on the very long tail keywords that most ignore. As the saying goes - one mans trash is another mans treasure. If you go after the big high traffic keywords you will end up on position 257 or something and get very little traffic.

Another saying goes like this - it is better to be a big frog in a small pond than a small frog in a big pond. This becomes very true on the internet. Aaron Wall has tips to get new web sites to rank quickly. When you are new you have few back links and getting ranked by the search engines if difficult; this is one more reason to stay away from the big high traffic keywords that are hard to do well in.

Once you are doing well with low traffic words and have mastered them you can expand to higher traffic keywords (more competitive) and move up the food chain of the net.

Is it OK to use fake avatars?

Well, some people think it is not OK to use fake avatars in social media and want a real person behind the profile. Personally, I feel that people should be able to "cosplay" an avatar and pretend to have an alter ego. This is just me, but are handles a way to become another individual or not?

Cuill takes on Google

Former Google employees are creating Cuil to take on the search engine giant. This is an exciting time for the internet as new technology is being created. Cuill does not use Pagerank, but instead of links it looks at content, and uses that to decide with page is most relevant.

I went on cuil and found a lot of spam and old sites that have not been updated in a while. It is good to find content that is buried deep in the internet, but many of the pages it digs up contain outdated sources.

Do search engines ignore your web pages?

There are many reasons why search engines could ignore your web pages. One of these is using the tags NOINDEX or NOFOLLOW as these tell the search engine to ignore the we page. Be very careful when you use these tags as you could be telling a search engine to not index your we site.

Finding high traffic keywords

This keyword is for the book "Philosophy of Time Travel" by Robert Sparrow from the movie Donnie Darko.

keywordcompetitionsearchKEI
philosophy roberta sparrow time travel132002308308
donnie darko2c the philosophy of
time travel
128380089

Getting a KEI score above 400 is considered excellent and these super high scores with almost no competition are like a gift.

If you check you will see that none of these websites is a list of time travel books, but instead most are spam sites with lots of unrelated keywords.

So called "serious" websites shy away from controversial subjects like ghosts, UFO, bigfoot, and time travel. It is therefore possible to find high KEI keywords in controversial subjects.

What to do if your blog sux

Having a popular blog is hard work, and here are some suggestion on writing blogs that don't suck. How is your SEO doing?

Weak SEO - Search Engine Optimization is a problem for many people. Instead of creating quality content they try to trick the SE into giving them top position.

Still, as our friends at the main search engine warn us that unethical techniques can cause a site to be delisted or drop in the rankings. Well, enough of sad stories.

On the plus side we can have fun with a throwable camera that captures pictures in flight.

Microsoft vs Yahoo

Leaving the merger aside, what about pay per click? Both Microsoft AdCenter and Yahoo Panama are fighting to position two, that is because Yahoo Search Marketing / Overture has been on a downhill spin.

At one time overture was ahead of Google Adwords, but that seems to have occur in the distant past as Yahoo is now a sick old man with a death rattle in his voice.

Google Outsourcing Copywriting to India?

Read it and weep. Google is joining many other firms and sending high tech jobs to low wage countries. In fact, Google is outsourcing copywriting to India and that's not all. It seems we are seeing a rise in the number of firms that expect PhD work at the low rate of fifty cents an hour.

Avoid SEO Malpractise

Many SEO techniques can get your web site banned from search engines and cause you headaches. It is important to understand that certain strategies will land you in hot water. Most people do not use tiny text or stuff keywords into meta tags anymore, but did you know that Google has an Over Optimization Penalty?

The OOP could strike you if your keyword density is too high. Pages too rich in keywords are a red flag. Try to keep keyword density below 5% and do not over stuff the content.

SEO PR techniques

SEO page rank sculpting is a new idea. Still, we can benefit from PR if we understand how it works. Try to send PR to your most important pages and set no follow to unimportant pages.

For example, legal and FAQ are types of pages that you can deny sending PR to and instead we can send it to selling pages so they rank higher.

Google looks to authority sites when ranking keywords. There are ways to increase your blogging authority and your ranking on the search engines. One way is to get links from high PR blogs to your blogs this transfers some links juice to your. Writing quality content is a way to do that.

Another method is to make frequent posts to social networks. This will raise your profile and make you know, as well as getting you more links. The important thing is getting links to your blog.

Problems with SEO

One problem firms face is negative SEO. Customers place complaints about the product and search engines pick it up. This can ruin your business so keep an eye out for any new stories about your company.

If you see a pice of damaging information, try to work with the customers. It may be that they will pull the story after they get a refund for a defective product. There are other more aggressive measures such as lawsuits that can be used as well.

Your online reputation is important.

Is onsite SEO going away?

With all the talk about getting one way link and creating linkbait, it seems some have forgetten the importance of great articles to get readers and search engines interested in what you have to say.

I have found that most people put all their effort into getting links and yet there is little emphasis on the content. Perhaps onsite SEO is history, but I feel that content is still king.

Most web pages that are low on content let us say flash heavy and filled with picture have a hard time ranking high in the search engines because there is little text to search. Perhaps in the future AI will make sense of picture, but for now TEXT is it.

Social Networking

Social Networking is now mainstream. Much like the Apple Ipod replaced the Sony Walkman, internetworking has replaced hangouts for teens, and the internet is becoming more interpersonal everyday.

The big shift is that now websites like digg help to drive traffic to other sites. An army of diggers helps filter out the good story from the junk spam. It is the dawn of a new day in technology.

What to do when rankings fall

We can often panic when we tumble from position one down to five or even get booted off the first page, but the key is to prepare not scare. I often will rewrite the content to engage emphasis on the main keyword and add links that contain the main keyword as an anchor, but it takes time to build back up to position one.

Often an algorithm change will kick you out, and you better be quick to make changes. Still, some SEO experts say that you should not change anything, and spend that time promoting your page to get links. Well, I know that Google will penalize stale content. They want you to refresh your content on a regular basis.

Think of a store display, when the rain clouds pass and the sun comes out, you get rid of that black umbrella and put some happy colorful beachware on display. Keep the content fresh.

SEO good for the economy?

Is search engine optimization and marketing good for economic growth? Well, I feel that if we buy more over the internet that will save gasoline and well as remove congestion from roads.

Also, if more people work at home, this will improve society because you save time and more, as well as fuel. Bosses can check up using a webcam. The internet is now becoming more social and face to face meeting can talk place over the web.

I see the growth of the web page as well as doing business over the wire as a net gain.

Keyword Research

There are many SEO keyword research tools to help you improve conversion. Many of the most popular are Keyword Discovery, Wordtracker, and Nichebot. Still, it helps to look for new tools that help you find more phrases that are low in competition, yet high in visitor traffic.

How does Google look at anchor text?

Some say that with Google only the first link counts, but other say that they have debunked the first anchor text only theory. I feel that all link count, but that those near the top and above the fold count more than links at the bottom of the page.

One reason is that most footers contain {contact us, legal, copyright, address, etc} that those not relate to page content and is repearted in page after page of the site. Thus it is more interested in top of page content and anchor text when ranking links.

Comcast limits web use

We were all jumping into web 2.0 and video, but now Comcast wants to limit web use. To many people watching videos on the internet have made Comcast want to throttle web use. This reminds me of an airline that wanted to charge fat people extra.

Perhaps they want use to go back to the 90's and use tiny gifs and lots of stale text to make our web sites load faster.

The future is web 2.0 and Comcast needs to upgrade their aging infrastructure. There are not fantastic, they are complaincastic!

Make your website SEO easy

There able many ways to make your website SEO friendly and easy to use. Try to not use a lot of computer code mix with HTML. The search engines have problems finding your keywords if they are buried inside the code. Eliminate frames and flash as engine can choke on it. Try to limit javascript as mush as possible. Straight HTML is the easiest for all engines.

Learning SEO basics

According to Jessica Bowman even if you outsource your SEO, it is a good idea to learn SEO basics so you can better administer what is going on. I agree totally, because if we do not understand what is happening we will be in a world of hurt.

One of her ideas of bringign an SEO consultant in house to teach SEO to your people is excellent because it allows you to gain competent designers and programmers to help push forward your SEO drive.

The future belong to innovative companies that learn new skill and move in new directions.

Social Media

I still remember when CompuServ charged me $6/hr to use their service over a 300 baud modem, that was back in the 80's. I was using a terminal, talk about "thin client", and made friends over cyberspace.

Social media marketing
has been around even before we had computers. In fact, I believe it probably began around a fire in a dark cave. Still, the internet has made it easier to communicate with the world via, text, sound, and video.

Monday, May 26, 2008

Problem with linkbait

We all want links to our website, but one problem with linkbait is that you have no control over what anchor text will be used to link to your web page and Google will penalize you if too many links have the same exact tag. Remember that most people are not creative and they will you your title as anchor text so this may trigger an avalanche of similar links to your web page.

Google says no to paying users to click

Get the edge with SEO

SEO can give you the edge in competition with other businesses. Each firm looks at the net to generate new sales, but few uinderstand the power of search engine optimization. Each brand should try to carve out a niche for itself.

The key is to dominate a small portion of the internet. Then you can expand into new areas.

Social Media as a source of traffic

Target social media for posts to get traffic. You need more exposure for your web site and blog. Making people aware of what you have to offer will increase the number of visitors you get as well as links and bookmarks. If you get on the front page of a major social media web site you will build brand awareness for your name. This will help increase the number of active members you have.

For example, I just signed up for Technorati to get more exposure for my blog.

Community powered local search

Lets face it, most search is local. You do not want to go to a store one hundred miles away. Also, if you are a business, most customers live within the five mile radius of your store. As gasoline prices go up this becomes more true every day.

So community powered local search is great for both the customers and the stores. This is the future of search engines.

Google controls search quality.

Google works hard every day to improve its search algorithm that determines which pages get top rankings on the search engine. The dynamic duo of Larry Page and Sergey Brin came up with the page rank algorithm that assigns a score to each page on the internet.

Basically Google has a spam prevention team to control search quality.
The see who is abusing the system and how it is done. Black hat hackers are contrsntly changing their methods so Google must constantly be changing their algorithm to make search relevant.

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Are alt image tags important?

It is one more way that Google looks at your page. I feel that the ALT IMAGE TAGS tell the search engine what the picture is about. Also the popup tool tip helps the user identify the picture.

The title tag also helps as does the name of the picture so call your pic something like BABY_DUCK.JPG instead of xtw172v.jpg, and have an ALT IMAGE TAG of {a baby duck} to go which it.

Keyword Relevance

Finding relevant keywords is essential to SEO and marketing. As Christine Churchull says "Many CEOs of big biz outsource SEO to people in poor countries that do not have command of the English language." Executives are always saying 'cut costs', 'gotta outsource', and 'reduce headcount' when in fact, many inhouse people are the best for finding relevant keywords.

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Future SEO trends

AS we look out into the far future no doubt technology will be far different than now, but what are the near term investor marketing trends telling us? Basically we see that Google is taking over. Yahoo and Microsoft have lost the search engine war. The merger of the two failure might have postponed the inevitable demise of Microsoft, but only by prolonging the agony.

Small search engines like ASK.COM will slowly fade away. They cannot compete with the giants. Take a look at all the small car companies of the 1920's. Truth is that the internet will look very different in the future with HD video and broadband being common, but the main player are already at the table.

Ways to boost your rank

Linking to BBC will boost your rank on Google and help you get to the top. This is old news to most SEOs, but it may help people who fail to link to others learn that linking to authority sites helps both parties.

Actually I think that some form of PR is passed back to your site. How this works is still a bit cloudy, but linking to bad neighborhoods hurts you also.

Is ethanol the answer?

Lets have an ethanol reality check, are corn power cars the answer? If we use corn to make grain alcohol and pour that down the tank, we have less food and more fuel. It becomes a food vs fuel.

In the future we might have solar powered scooters as transportation, but buring biomass is not the solution. In fact, our world need more food, not less, so turing food into fuel is not a solution.

The future use of fuel is well - fuelish...

Future Rulers

Times they be a changing, as we look at the world around us. Many wonder what future rulers will be like. Other know that any ruler good or bad will attempt to maintain power. This is a given in any society, so we see that the ruler cannot be good.

Look at taxes, in Indiana in the 70's the sales tax was 2% and now it is 7%. Why is the tax not still 2%? Well, rulers are greedy. I mean inflation causes more money to go to the state, look at how prices keep going up, but why has the percentage of taxes gone up?

Your salary in inflation adjusted dollars is less, but you pay a bigger portion in taxes. The big bite keeps getting bigger as the appetite of the ruler increases.

Do you think that if you ask the citizens they would vote to increase sales tax from 2% to 7%?

A magnetic vortex or grid point is created where two magnetic grid lines cross. The grid lines run magnetic north - south and east - west. They are called the Hartmann grd and spaced about 5-8 feet apart.

The Sedona vortex in Arizona is supposed to generate healing energies. However, Ernst Hartmann claims that sleeping over a grid point is bad for you. They are called geopathic zones. It is a good idea not to sleep over a magnetic vortex. Move your bed.

Old bullets?

A US firm was selling the Afghans military old Chinese munitions that were corroded and bad. It is against regulations to sell any weapons or ammunition from a Chinese military. An investigation is on going. The firm sold more than 200 million dollars worth of supplies to the Afghan Peoples National Army.

Housing in Trouble

The housing slump continued to be a drag on economic activity. Prices of existing homes is still in decline as more and more houses fall into foreclosure and banks are unable to sell them. Las Vegas and Miami has the worst decline, an almost 20% fall from last year.

Scalar Waves

Caduceus coil generates scalar waves. This is important in the fuure because scalar waves have many unusual properties. They are not like radio waves, but can pass thru many miles of solid lead. This allow us to communicate with people underground.

It is scalar waves that are used in electrogravitic propulsion devices. Also many overunity devices use them. There is no free energy, by the power is pulled from the quantum vacuum.

Most of the new technology of the future depends on this breakthrough, much like the industrial revolution depended on coal and steam engines. I am not sure why a caduceus coil will generate scalar waves, but it appears that this is a big breakthrough. Much like a Tesla coil can send electricity without wires. This is the famous experiment where a person hold up a light tube near a Tesla coil and it lights up.

In this case a coil can generate a special electricity that moves without wires. The cad coil is similar in that it generates a special energy also.

Improving Page Rank

The PR score have become more important in recent weeks. Improving your page rank is so important that many people will not buy from low PR web sites. So, howdo we do it?

Getting links is important, but not just any links, they must be relevant to your subject material. In fact, links that are not relevant could hurt you if they seem to be not organic.

If a search engine detech many links that are not rlevant it can start to discount all your links and lower your page rank.

The Tata Nano is the antihummer a small inexpensive automobile that has high mpg and low cost of ownership. Most people are worried about high gasoline prices and want fuel efficient transportation.

In the future scooters and small cars will allow people to travel long distances using little fuel. Eventually electric cars will replace gasoline driven vehicles and make transportation more affordable. Scooters are not much fun when it rains, so microcars are the future.

DOW down nearly 300 points

Today the dow fell 293 points in heavy trading and wall street is stunned. The news is terrible, I expected a rally after the fed rates. The DOW tried to rally, but fell hard. This added to a dollar at historic low against the euro, oil at over $100/barrel, and gold which a few days ago broke the $1000/oz mark adds up to a grim future.

Investors express concern about the US economy and the financial health of credit markets. It is believed that further declines in the real estate market could cause more banks to fail. The recession is getting a lot worse.

Gold Predictions

Back in 2001 gold was $250/oz and gasoline was $1/gallon, now we see gold is $1000/oz and gas is nearly $4/gal. I can assure you that salaries are not four times as much. You are not making enough to have the same lifestyle as before.

My gold prediction is that it will continue to go up and up and up. Go for the gold!

Fuel Efficient Cars

The Toyota Yaris is a very fuel efficient automobile. However we need to make an even smaller more efficient SPV (SinglePassenger Vehicle) The Yaris sits four people and only gets 32 mpg. What we need is a 200mpg SPV.

Ferrarro says Obama would not be there if he was white

In a dramatic twist the former VP Geraldine Ferrarro said the Obama would not be there if he was white or a woman. This is a very strange remark. I do believe however that being a woman has made it harder for Hillary Clinton to become president. Perhaps she can clarify what she means. It does seem a bit off.

Fear of recession rise on economic data

The economy is falling into a recession as we have predicted. Weak figures and job cuts point to further drops in the dow as we sink further into the sand. Our president does continue to say that we can avoid a recession but the steep downturn cannot be avoided. The dismal employment report points to a general slowdown in economic activity. As more investors shirt their holdings away from the stock market and into precious metals we will see the rise in gold continue as well as a drop in the dollar.

Stocks fall to lowest level in 18 months

The dow dove today to a record low. It has been faliing for some time now. The decline in the dollar as well as the record high price of oil helped damage the dow. However, the worst problem is that financial institutions are now falling. Lending giant Thornburg may soon declare bankruptcy.

The Very Wild Thornburgs

It seems like the end of the road for the very wild Thornburgs. In fact, Thornburg Survival of the Banking Giant is at Stake After a Big Margin Call by a certain financial institution. We may well see the end of this high end lender to buyers of luxury homes.

Thornburgs failure to meet a margin call from JPMorgan Chase may trigger a default and cause the company to file for bankruptcy protection. It is now that we see our economy causing the collapse of lending institutions. The decline in the DOW is in part causinga fanancial panic as people try to cash out.

Oil hits $106 record high

The world situation was tense today with an explosion in Times Square NYC, oil hit a record high of $106/b and gold is near $1000/oz. We do live in troubled times and must get ready for the difficult days that lie ahead. I see a dramatic drop in the dow ahead as people stop buying and the recession gets worse.

That was then

I still remember thirty years ago going overseas and seeing the extreme poverty and then returning to the US and seeing the vast wealth we had. It was amazing that we had so much when the world had so little. There were huge neighborhoods - blocks and blocks of multimillion dollar houses. Where do all these people work?

Now these houses are in a "bad neighborhood" and falling apart. Gone is the bouyant US economy. The engines of our manufacturing sector are rusting away in an old junkyard, turned into scrap metal for a Chinese factory. The so called probiz crowd have relocateds their factories to Red China.

All execs talks about is that they have to downsize, outsource, gotta cut costs! Well, I never see them "downsize" their palatial house, or sell their luxury vehicle and get a Tata Nano, or instead of fine wine, cheap buy rot gut at the grocery store.

It appears that all the cuts are done by the workers, meanwhile the executives live in the lap of luxury. The workers are forced to live with less, while the salaries for executives go up and up. All this talk of cuts is one way.

Record High Oil Prices Shock Nation

Even though we are in a recession, record high oil prices are hitting us in the pocketbook like never before. The price for crude shot above $102/barrel even though fuel consumption is down. It is likely that we will see $4/gal gas soon. Analysts forecast that by this spring we will be paying over four dollars for each gallon of gasoline and the price may hit five by 2009.

Economists see recession

Well, as our economy plunges ever downward we see that it is unstoppable. Economists see recession this year and forecast that the recovery will be weak; actually I forecast a one two punch of recession and inflation known as stagflation will hit us this year. The high price of oil and grain will affect food and fuel.

The student loan crunch

The same banks that stopped loaning money to buy houses are now cutting back on cars, and guess what - no loans for students. It is that we are out of money and we see a student loan crunch as one more indication of a faltering economy. Well, you have not long to wait because soon you will see a lot of banks fail.

Future Fuels

People point to the growing use of ethanol derived from corn as an example of what is to come. Other see biodiesel from soy as the answer. Yet, this has driven up the price of food and we still depend on Saudi Arabia for oil.

Most cars burn gasoline not ethanol, the flexfuel initiative has been a disaster. We need a real solution to our transportation problem. It appears that future fuels are not the answer we once thought they would be.

Another alternative we see is using electricity. The United States has a 500 year supply of coal. Still, the amount of CO2 created to power this fleet of electric cars would be staggering. Out coal supply would soon be burnt up.

The solution is to move to wind power and solar to replace fossil fuels. To create a post carbon future without greenhouse gas, otherwise God's green earth will be turned into a polluted wasteland.

economy in trouble

Well, our economy is slowing down faster than expected, it was another down day for the DOW. The price of oil near a record high means less money in the pockets of consumers. Economic slowdown is the forecast for this summer. The next few weeks will show us.

House of the Future

In 1957, over fifty years ago, Walt Disney built the house of the future in Disneyland. It was all made of plastic. The house had inside a functional microwave and a wall size flat screen TV. The house of the future would soon be torn down because it looked to "dated".

Back then the future was seen as fun, but now we see the future in a very distinct way. It is our plastic paradise that has polluted our envioronment with the waste of petroleum products. The future looks grim indeed. I wonder, will there be birds in the future?

Decline in the dollar

Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffet says that the dollar should continue to decline for the next 5 - 10 years. This is important because foreign banks are reluctant to lend money to americans. They are afraid that our money will be worthless 20 years out. This makes things more difficult for us. The decline in the US dollar hurts us. Our current trade deficit with China is hurting the US economy.

Real Estate - what is the forecast?

Well, it is the opposite of sunny; there is a gale force wind with a massive thunderstorm. Banks will fail, prices will fall. Actually, things are good now compared to the near future. Get ready for a wild ride as the economy implodes.

Future of Real Estate is very grim indeed as we see now more than ever signs of a coming economic collapse the the perfect storm caused by a declining dollar and investors pulling money out of US banks creates chaos for the markets.

Expect to see property prices plummet and then slowly go up, but first you could see prices crash when banks attempt to unload the huge number of forclosed properties they have on the book... It's scary...
