Digg soon gone
Digg traffic is collapsing and the site is hard to use. The old digg is gone. Well, I feel that soon so will the new. Problem is that is now losing viewers. The transition was not smooth because it was very buggy and crashed a lot so people stopped coming.

Reddit vs Digg
For success in SEO posting in social networks to get your pages noticed is important. There are many big social areas, but today I can compare Digg vs Reddit. Digg is bigger and more corporate, but reddit seems to be more interesting.
I find that I used to like Digg a lot before the digg bar and their new URL shortening move. It is not that much fun anymore. Is Reddit better than Digg?

Digg hijacks links

It helps create a buzz about your website. Also, people see you link. Social media can boost SEO, but certain sites like DIGG will shorten your URL as well as make it harder to link to.
Be careful were you link to, because some neighborhood are not the best. I can see how being social is good for your SEO in so many way.

Why I don't dig DIGG
For a while DIGG was a great concept with people voting for stories, but it seems a bit rigged, I mean the few topics I submit never hit front page. Well, now we see that the DIGGbar makes Digg even more worthless as a source of information and for link bait.
Classic pump and dump scheme like our bear market rally which boosted the DOW which is also manipulated. They got a few more suckers to swim into the net thinking that they were getting big name dow shares at bargain basement price, then poof the stock market goes down yet once more.

Getting on the front page of Digg
IT is important for traffic as well as that very important buzz factor to get on the front page of Digg. Factor for getting your story on the front page of Digg. First you need an exciting story to get readers to vote you up on Digg. Next, you need a dynamic headline to get people to click on your story. Then, you need the description to be alluring. And, finally, you need a good picture to pull in interest.

Make you blog media friendly
Do people really DIGG your blog? Making your content "media friendly" will help you get more exposure in the social bookmarking sites. Most of the hints are obvious like create short, but memorable headlines, add movies that people can share with embed, add flash animation to make your site more interactive.
However, making your blog social media friendly can also involve using controversial topics to draw readers and getting friends to comment about your blog. You become like a movie star with fans.
