People feel more secure seeing and later buying your product if they previously saw a link on a powerful authority site.

Disappearing Blog Post

The disappearing blog post phenomenon is a cause of loss of SEO. You see a post on position one, then poof it is gone!

Where did this ghost post go? The answer is that Google freshbot puts it on the search rank listing, but then it got taken down after a few days. This is bad for searchers as they will look for stuff and it is missing days later when they really need it, so we should bookmark things because tomorrow it may be gone.

The move in SEO and away from PPC

OK, our budget for this year is smaller and PPC is one area to get cut. The replacement is SEO. In fact, using search engine optimization yield a much better cost of per new customer than PPC. The old pay per click model is broken. As the percent conversion drops due to an economic crisis, bids that use to be profit generating are now an added cost on a business that can ill afford them. The future for SEO looks bright, but PPC is very dim.

Google has up my bids on many keywords that were not even making a profit. The decision to drop them is made more easy as we realize that with SEO the work you do today will continue to pay after the economy begins to recover. With PPC prices will go up even higher when we enter recovery.
