Youtube killing our internet

Youtube is now second biggest search engine after Google. However, the internet was design for text. It was never given the access to bandwidth necessary for streaming movies. Youtube videos are now HD. Well now that we consume movies in massive amounts, the internet is slowing down. In fact, TV over IP is killing our internet. The slowdowns are causing massive traffic jams on our information super highway. This means that we could one fine day no longer have an internet anymore.

OK some say you should not use Youtube for getting links. However, one of my web sites get over 50% of its traffic via Youtube. In fact, Youtube is a traffic magnet and it is interactive. The big problem is that it does not pass PR to your pages. Rather instead you pass PR to it. This could be a problem for SEO, but I find Youtube an XLent source of clicks and comments. Also, I can talk face to face with my audience and not pay for hosting the videos. All in all, it is very win win.

Future of Youtube

Hey, we use youtube for SEO like every day now. It is a great way to drive traffic to your site. In fact, this is world's biggest audience for internet TV, but some say Youtube is doomed. They point to losses of over half a billion dollars per year and an economy in ruins.

Future of TV or television is over an internet. Hulu proves this as it bulks up. Perhaps in the future we can have a very new service with more commercials and less content, but I feel TV over IP is in.

If you go on twitter, you will find out that Youtube was down today - check it out. This is sad, but we can many times come to rely on a service and later it goes down. I use Youtube a lot, but it is a good idea to not put all your eggs in one basket.

Not only should you put your videos on your blog, but you should optimize them for high placement. Believe it or not Youtube is the second biggest search engine after Google, so ranking high on Youtube is max plus. To do SEO tips for your Youtube video place emphasis on a catchy title with your main keywords in to. Also, make sure that keyword is in the desc. Include the keyword in the tags, and last but not least, link from your blog using that keyword inside your anchor text. This will help you rank high for that keyword.
