The big three search engines {google yahoo and msn} are at war. Search engines are fighting for control of the internet. Right now Google is on top, but at one time Yahoo was the king.
Yahoo took over Altavista. Overture, and many smaller search engines, but it slowly faded away. The results on Google were better. MSN did not take off because it did not focus on search, but instead finding a way to piggy back on Windows.
Google rules because it moves into new areas like video using Youtube. Perhaps it can move into social media by a purchase of DIGG. MSN is fading and a merger with Yahoo would not have turned things around. MSN should instead improve its product.
