Lucky Oliver isn't
The microstock photo agency known as Lucky Oliver is shutting down. It was a great little place to get photos for blogs. Sadly, the economy is so bad that people cannot even afford a dollar per picture. I hope that other bigger microstock agencies survive the recession.

Humans nearly extinct 70,000 year ago?
Scientist say that due to a drought, that humans nearly became extinct 70,000 years before now. This seems to be wrong as the evidence would have a very small gene pool instead of a large gene pool.

Damica Patrick, the first woman, wins the Indy 300 race. This is a history making event. I believe that one day a woman will win the Indianapolis 500 mile race. It would be a joy to see Danica Patrick win at Speedway with the checkered flag.

Google Algo Change
Google changed its algorithm in an effort to stop search engine spammers. This new update is known as Dewey and I hope it reduces the number of MFA pages on the web. We also need more pages that are not link farms.

Low cost HD cameras
I was chomping at the bit to get an HD camera, but they were all sooo sooo expensive. Well, now Kodak has an HD camera for only $169 and it is a winner! The Kodak z1275 shoots 720p movies (1280 X 720) and also takes 12MP pictures (3000 X 4000) and it can do low light at 3200 iso. A great combo that comes with a 5X zoom lens. HD is here! It's time to jump on the HD video bandwagon and start to upload movies.

Foreclosures up 178% in Youngstown, OH
They call it the incredible shrinking city as jobs and people leave Ohio to move west. A city that once had 150,000 inhabitants is now a shadow of its former self. It is slowly shrinking away.

Yahoo talks merger with Microsoft
Yahoo is exploring a merger with Microsoft as one path it might take. The Software giant has seen its share of search decline and is desperate to unite with Yahoo to fight Google.
Another option is to oputsource ads to Google and try to exit search. This would be sad as Yahoo created search and is an internet pioneer.

Is ethanol the answer?
Lets have an ethanol reality check, are corn power cars the answer? If we use corn to make grain alcohol and pour that down the tank, we have less food and more fuel. It becomes a food vs fuel.
In the future we might have solar powered scooters as transportation, but buring biomass is not the solution. In fact, our world need more food, not less, so turing food into fuel is not a solution.
The future use of fuel is well - fuelish...

Are Hybrids the greenest?
With sky high fuel bills many people are thinking of getting a hydrid car. Still, I believe that a small car can be just as good in regular driving. Here we compare two small cars the Toyota Prius Hybrid and a BMW.

Is the recession good for SEO?
Yes, that sounds strange, but as companies cut back on their PPC campaign the emphasis is on organic traffic which although less target driven is less expensive. In fact, a recession can be good for SEO and link building is always a great strategy.

Future Rulers
Times they be a changing, as we look at the world around us. Many wonder what future rulers will be like. Other know that any ruler good or bad will attempt to maintain power. This is a given in any society, so we see that the ruler cannot be good.
Look at taxes, in Indiana in the 70's the sales tax was 2% and now it is 7%. Why is the tax not still 2%? Well, rulers are greedy. I mean inflation causes more money to go to the state, look at how prices keep going up, but why has the percentage of taxes gone up?
Your salary in inflation adjusted dollars is less, but you pay a bigger portion in taxes. The big bite keeps getting bigger as the appetite of the ruler increases.
Do you think that if you ask the citizens they would vote to increase sales tax from 2% to 7%?

Super Fast Internet for HD movies
Say goodbye to going to Blockbuster to rent your bluray movie. Comcast is rolling out a new internet service that is blazingly fast. At 50mb/sec you can stream HD video over the new connection. It is so fast that my current DSL service seems like a turtle. Comcast will charge $150/mo for this new super fast internet connection that is able to handle HD movies.
