Importance of choosing proper keywords

You keyword choice will make you or it will break ya! Most customers do not see why having me increase their sales by 10% of their star product is a lot more productive use of my time and their money, than for me to get number one rank on Google for some low traffic keyword for some dog product that is not making it.

I spent a lot of valuable time pushing SEO and optimizing landing pages for maxiumum conversion to boost sales for a brand new product that brought in just $5,000/mth, when I could instead have put all that effort into pumping up sales for the firm's star product that was bringing in over in $1.2 million/mth. All that effort that was wasted on the dog product that was later cut.

will digg for food?

Social network sites may desire to ban individual who post negative comments. They also may also wish to ban an individual who constantly spam the site with off topic posts. They want new content.

We can laser focus on exciting new content, and not pile on to the bandwagon. The problem with social networking is that there are only a few individuals at the top of the pyramid. Many webs have super powerusers that rule the top of the heap. These king of the hills with their armies of "diggers" which are called upon to vote up their main stories, rule the roost. So it is hard for newbies to get to the top. What to expect, more of the same.

SEO providers

What can we expect from SEO providers? OK, so most of their work is link building. A small part is optimizing pages to get good rank, but what about metrics and analysis? Do they work on sales copy to increase conversion?

It is a good idea to find out what areas of expertise your SEO master has. Most do not do everything, but specialize in certain areas.

The important thing is to fill a need. First we must find a need. For example, many unemployed need jobs, cheap housing, inexpensive food. After you find the need then work hard to fill it.

Copy and SEO

Writing good copy and SEO work together. Many people stuff articles full of keywords without seeing the effect it has on readibility. Target your customers with a combination 0of good copy optimized for high ranking in the search engines.

Make sure your main keyword is not repeated again and again. Make sure to mention it in the first 100 characters, but do not be using it over and over again, because that will turn off the users of your web page.

Add compelling content that will energize and motivate your users without sounding wordy. Get to the point quickly. Your users have little time and need to make decisions fast.

Finally, add more content every week to your web site to keep it new and fresh.

Get you on adwords for only a nickel a click?

First, get a good quality score so that you only pay a nickel a click, put your keyword in the title, the header H1 tag, also subheads, and body copy (density > 2%). Make sure to bold it at least once. Place keyword in the anchor text both incoming and outgoing with at least three out links containing it. Place the keyword in pictures and the ALT TEXT tag. Also in metatags.

Now you are almost done. Go to Google Adwords and see what keywords it suggests for your webpage. The keyword you want to pay only five cents a click for, should be in the list. BTW I have keywords that I pay only a penny a click. :D

SEO Link Building

Link building is the root of SEO and without it you will not get far. Search engines look at anchor text to decide which keywords are important to your site. Think of each link as a vote.

Google heat map

There are many differences between a heatmap of Google in 2008 versus in 2005. Now it is more important to rank in the top three in Google. People pay less attention to lower ranking links. Perhaps this is because people are pressed for time ands cannot scan every link.

The result is that SEO is more important than ever as fewer firms can afford to simply be in the top ten. To compete you must now be in the first four results because those capture about 80% of sales, versus position five and below must fight for the remaining 20%. Well, so now more than ever you must be trying for position one.

The new Google heatmap reveals that users now do not look at the bottom of the page as much, but concentrate on the first few links. Also gone are the days when users would go to page two or three of results.

How Google Chrome changes the game

Well, we see that SEO in the future is about being in the first three rather than top ten like before. People no longer click on position five like before. Google Chrome changes the game by combining the search bar and address bar into a combo box.
